The 2026 North Island School Track Championships Combined will be held at the Grassroots Trust Velodrome in Cambridge, from 7-8 July, organised by the CNZ Events Team.
Individual events will be run in an 'Omnium style' and riders will be awarded Omnium points for placings in each event. Riders must start all individual events to be eligible for titles. Team events include Team Sprint and Team Pursuit. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 overall eligible riders in each age group.

At a minimum competitors must be enrolled in Year 7.
Track Accreditation
All riders are required to be accredited to the Grassroots Trust Velodrome. You can find out more about Track Accreditation here. If you're accreditation has lapsed or you are accredited to ride at the Velodrome in Invercargill, then you can sign up for an Express Accreditation class. You can also email reception@velodrome.nz to make a booking.
Bike Hire
There are a limited number of bikes available to hire from the Grassroots Trust Velodrome. Bike hire is for the entirety of the event, bikes are not shared. To book a hire bike, please contact the velodrome.

All entries will need to be completed by the schools sports coordinator via the Sporty platform. Parents please liaise with your school to register student riders.
Schools must be affiliated for 2026 and follow the Step by Step Guide here before they will be able to enter this event.

Composite Teams - Team Sprint and/or Team Pursuit
If you are entering a Composite team please advise us by adding COMPOSITE into the team name in Sporty. See CNZ Schools Rules for more information. Composite teams are eligible to compete and will be recognised on the podium if they place in the top 3, however as per the current Schools Cycling Rules, they are ineligible to receive a medal.
All riders wishing to be considered for a composite team must already be entered into the event via their school for an individual event. Schools may pre-arrange their own composite team with other eligible schools/riders OR submit their riders into the Pool through the forms below:

Refund Policy
Refunds requested after the entry closing date will only be processed on the presentation of a medical certificate to CNZ Schools no later than one week prior to the event finishing. All refunds will incur a $25 administration fee.
No refunds are available unless requested in writing prior to the Team Managers meeting.

RULES
This event will follow Cycling New Zealand Schools Rules.
*In the teams pursuit riders can start with 3 riders, but also must finish with 3 riders.
Health and Safety
Everyone has a responsibly towards Health and Safety at an event.
The safety of the riders, officials, volunteer and spectators are included in the event planning. If you have any questions or concerns regarding Health and Safety please report to the Event Manager.
