To support the continued growth of Schools Cycling, we’re introducing new volunteer executive roles to bring in specialist skills, share the workload, and strengthen how we support schools and riders. These roles will help build partnerships, grow participation, champion women and girls, and ensure strong health, safety, and safeguarding practices - setting Schools Cycling up for a sustainable and inclusive future:

Sponsorship Coordinator

The Sponsorship Coordinator is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing sponsorship and partnership opportunities that support Schools Cycling events and programmes. This role works closely with the executive to secure funding or in-kind support and maintain positive relationships with sponsors.

Key focus: Partner engagement, sponsorship proposals, relationship management.

Schools Cycling Development Coordinator

The Schools Cycling Development Coordinator supports the growth and development of school cycling participation across regions. This role helps identify participation pathways, supports schools and clubs, and contributes to initiatives that improve access, capability, and engagement in schools cycling.

Key focus: Participation growth, pathway development, school and club support.

Women & Girls Community Growth Lead

The Women & Girls Community Growth Lead champions initiatives that increase participation, retention, and leadership opportunities for women and girls in schools cycling. This role provides a voice at the executive table and helps shape inclusive, welcoming programmes and environments.

Key focus: Inclusion, participation growth, advocacy and programme input.

Health, Safety & Safeguarding Officer 

The Health, Safety & Safeguarding Officer provides oversight and guidance to support the safe, inclusive, and responsible delivery of Schools Cycling activities and events. This role supports health and safety practices, risk management, and safeguarding of children and young people, ensuring appropriate policies, processes, and reporting pathways are in place and understood.

Key focus: Health and safety oversight, safeguarding, risk management, policy and process guidance.
