It is recognised that the Boys and Girls road race distances differ and while there are proficient riders in the girls grade it is a philosophy of CNZS to ensure the races are accessible to as many girls as possible. The comparative distances have been tried in the past and it very quickly became evident that this was not a positive approach.
Volunteer Programme
Schools are required to provide one car and one driver (over the age 25) to support the road race component of this event. Please register your nominated driver here or please send details to janette@eventscollective.co.nz. If no details are provided the Team Manager will be responsible for filling this role.
Drivers will be assigned as either a lead car or commissaire car. All Lead Car drivers are required to have a passenger to support them. Passengers must be over the age of 18 and be able to assist in the case of an emergency.
All equipment required for the role will be given out on the day, such as lights, radios, maps etc.
Please contact janette@eventscollective.co.nz if you have any questions and click here to register your driver.

While it may not be possible to accommodate Para events at every course or location, we’ll do our best to provide opportunities wherever we can. To be eligible, Para cyclists must be enrolled at a School Sport NZ-approved school. For more information email us at schools@cnz.kiwi.
