The 2027 NZSS Northern Tour will be on 3 - 5 September, run by CNZ Schools!

Held in Auckland, the Northern Tour includes 4 stages with the provisional schedule - TBC

The 2027 event will include the National Hill Climb title and National Criterium title with medals up for grabs in these races.

Volunteer Programme

Schools are asked to provide a Marshal Manager and will be responsible for filling allocated volunteer positions based on the number of entries at each school.

Please note it is the Marshal Managers responsibility to ensure these roles are filled for the duration of the shifts assigned. All volunteers should be over the age of 18, be confident in their role and wear fully enclosed footwear. All equipment required for the role will be given out on the day, such as high-vis vests.

Volunteers need to report to the CNZ Race Office tent for briefing 15 minutes prior to the time stated in the roster. The volunteer roster will be published on the event website after entries close. Please contact us on schools@cnz.kiwi if you have any questions.

Age as at 31 December 2027.

Individual Races: U20, U17, U16, U15, U14, U13 boys and girls

At a minimum competitors must be enrolled in Year 7.

Para cycling Opportunities:

From 2027, we’re excited to offer Para cycling events. As we’re just getting started, event formats will depend on entry numbers, and we’ll work with each competitor to find an approach that works for everyone. While it may not be possible to accommodate Para events at every course or location, we’ll do our best to provide opportunities wherever we can. To be eligible, Para cyclists must be enrolled at a School Sport NZ-approved school. For more information email us at schools@cnz.kiwi.

Refund Policy:

Entry fees are non-refundable after the entry closing date. Refunds will only be considered where a competitor is unable to participate due to injury or illness that occurs before race pack collection. A medical certificate must be submitted to CNZ Schools within one week of the event's conclusion. Injuries sustained during the event, or refund requests submitted more than one week after the event, will not be eligible for consideration. Approved refunds will incur a $25 administration fee.

RULES

This event will follow Cycling New Zealand Schools Rules . All riders should familiars themselves with the complete Rules under which racing will be conducted.

Health and Safety
Everyone has a responsibly towards Health and Safety at an event.

The safety of the riders, officials, volunteer and spectators are included in the event planning. This includes (but not limited to) road restrictions, traffic management and event advisories to the local businesses and residents.

The event takes place a mix of urban residential and rural roads. It is your responsibility to manage your own safety during the event, to be aware of other road users at all times and to make responsible decisions. There is traffic management in place however, the roads are OPEN and there will be public and official traffic on the circuit during your race.
